I'm not just sure what they plan to do but it will be good to experience and see something different to open our eyes to appreciate this kind of work. See you there!

FILIPINO artists will have the chance to showcase their talent and passion at Avida Towers Centera 3D Street Painting Festival on March 18 and 19, 2011 at Reliance Street in Mandaluyong City.

With the theme "Fast-forward: Life at the Center of the Metropolis", the art contest is part of the grand launch of Avida Land Corp.’s latest high rise project. The paintings will be open for public viewing starting March 19.

"What better way to mark the rise of another Avida Towers than to showcase the talent and creativity of Filipinos, whose artworks will adorn the street where this development will rise," says Avida Marketing Manager Tess Tatco.

The 3D street painting competition is open to all Filipino professional artists and students of all ages. Participants must form a team composed of three to seven members to qualify.

Contestants are required to submit a soft copy of their design at chriscahilig2011@gmail.com in JPEG format only on Tuesday, March 15 at exactly 10pm. Submitted design proposals must be based on the theme: "Fast-forward: Life at the Center of the Metropolis". The final artwork will be 8 x10 feet in size.

Design proposals will be evaluated and sorted for inclusion in a short-list; short-listed proposals are considered the official finalists of the competition. The contest will begin at 8AM on March 18th until 6 AM of the following day, March 19th.

Why target call-center agents? So what if infected men are not issued medical certificates? They can always get fake ones. The question we should address is, "What are we going to do to help these men?" We can always drive people out of work and out of the city by publishing sharp comments like this, however, we will not address the main problem of transmitting the disease to other unsuspecting victims. There should be a change in the lives of these people and sadly the city administrators cannot offer any help to ease the pain of these workers. Sadly we are quick to shun them and fail to provide help.

Now to drug dependents and men who have sex with other men, how can we help them realize this destructive path they're taking? Their damning acts should stop and the community has the greatest opportunity to bring back values in their lives.

This article was successful only in causing more hurt to the city and to those whose lives are now ruined because of their mistake in getting this disease.

All Organic Made Products are IN!

AFTER SHOWING YOU how dangerous some over-the-shelf personal products we use are, it is good now to show you what products my wife and I use today.

These are just some of the new team members of my bathroom club. Hahaha. That's funny. Kidding aside, these products are great discoveries my wife researched from the web after receiving a gift containing another product of the same manufacturer. Welcome, Human Nature!

As you can see below, I researched the ingredients and it's checking out clean except for some warnings that mention concentration limitations. I don't think that's a concern because the benefits I experienced from using these products are awesome.

Organic Facial Wash (Aloe Vera and Guave variant)

ALOE BARBADENSIS (ALOE VERA) GEL: It is extracted from the succulent leaves of the aloe plant, Aloe barbadensis

Determined safe for use in cosmetics, subject to concentration or use limitations - Safe for use in cosmetics with some qualifications

About VEGETABLE GLYCERIN: Glycerin (also called glycerol) is a naturally occurring alcohol compound and a component of many lipids. Glycerin may be of animal or vegetable origin.

Designated as safe for general or specific, limited use in food

About SODIUM COCOYL ISETHIONATE: It is a surfactant based on fatty acids from coconut oil and isoethionic acid, a type of sulfonic acid.

About SODIUM CHLORIDE: It is an inorganic salt (also called table salt).

A Sample of Harmful Personal Care Products You (Probably) Use

I've retired the use of my over-the-counter/shelf personal care products this morning. Why? Do you know the ingredients of the personal care products you use? I was shocked to learn that majority of the ingredients in two of the three products I use are toxic? I was also shocked that the same products we're using can cause cancer. I've listed them all below just in case you wanted to know what the ingredients are of your favorite shampoo or facial wash. 

Thanks to Google, I've learned a lot from this experience and I hope you will buy products that I am personally endorsing because they are not only environmentally friendly but they're also 100% Free from Harmful Chemcals that other hygiene products contain.

Would you like to know what this product I'm using? 

The following list shows what products have these toxic properties and you may want to pay more attention to what product you're using.

Ponds Perfect Care Facial Wash (Unilever)

Stearic Acid - Stearic acid is useful as an ingredient in making candles, plastics, dietary supplements, oil pastels and cosmetics, and for softening rubber.

Propylene Glycol - As a solvent used in mixing photographic chemicals, such as film developers

PEG-6000 Distearate - About PEG-STEARATES: Polymers of ethylene oxide used as humectants, solvents, binders, emulsion stabilizers, and viscosity increasing agents in cosmetics.

Polyquaternium-39 - Terpolymer of Acrylic Acid, Acrylamide and Diallyldimethylammonium Chloride (Teripolymer = resin (plastic); Not assessed for safety in cosmetics by industry panel 

Imidazolinidyl Urea - Imidazolidinyl urea is an antimicrobial preservative used in cosmetics; Human skin toxicant - strong evidence

Writing for Business As a Writer, Huh?

Malou and I attended this "Writing as a Profession" seminar held this afternoon at a nearby mall. All the resource speakers were talking about getting money from writing. I didn't hear a single speech about how to improve or love the work you're doing in writing. They forgot to help attendees put more heart into their work. 

I didn't hear anybody talk about passion and the deep sense of appreciating the work of writing. Passion for me is doing something even if you're not paid to do it. Disagree or not but imagine all the artists that we have now - I'm sure they all did their work without even thinking about  making it big. Think about Jose Rizal - a prolific writer you think - but did he ever imagine that will make a big deal out of his work? He didn't write Noli Me Tangere or El Fili with the thought, I will make it big doing these works. So I really had a hard time digesting what the theme of the workshop was all about. 

As writers, we'll be missing the point if all we do is write with the financial status in mind. For me, writers who think about money as the end of their means needs to know how to write again.
